First Blog of 2019

Did more & more digging today, extended this patch up to the Rhubarb bed, there was a narrow path along side but always got weedy with nettles & ground elder!
So glad its all dug out now.
We got a massive delivery of Horse Manure to our site, so got busy clearing the Strawberry beds, here by the shed and in the fruit cage too, and put a load of manure on top.
This raised bed by the greenhouse was partly cleared and more manure added. We will probably put salad crops here & spring onions.
The greenhouse bed, which is always very dry, got a load of well rotted manure as a topping too.
Tomatoes & Peppers will love a dollop of muck!
But still plenty of manure to fill up our store.

It will be used on the Potato bed when the chitted spuds are ready.
Can you spot the cheeky Robin, he was watching me digging over that patch! Bet the worms attracted him.
So after 5 hours on the plot we left just as it was getting dull & cold.
But with a satisfying feeling we got loads done.

Thanks for reading/returning. Ian & Jo
